HISTORY
Our story…
CAST
Transportation started out as South Park Motor Lines. The company was
founded in 1948 by husband and wife Richard H. and Lois Eshe “Lody”.
Lody’s father, Walter Schattinger, founded a truck line in South Park
called “Schattinger and Son”. He strongly encouraged his daughter to
carry on the tradition. Lody and Richard had the routine down, Richard
drove the trucks while Lody ran the office and at times was recruited as
a driver when the work piled up. They made a great team! Richard and
Lody passed this passion of trucking on to their son Rick.
The company is still family owned by their son Richard Eshe “Rick”. Rick has taken CAST Transportation to the top of the trucking industry, serving customers nationwide including Canada. CAST is located in Henderson Colorado, just northeast of downtown Denver on 35 acres which is lighted and secured. CAST also has its own rail spur serviced by the BNSF (Burlington Northern Santa Fe) Railroad. From the rail siting, transloading services are performed both rail-to-truck and truck-to-rail. The facility contains CAST’s Dispatch, Operations, Safety, Executive offices and a 24 hour full-service shop.
